Purpose and Prosperity Conference 2012

From June 6-9, AEI’s Values & Capitalism project hosted more than 70 students and professors from 20 schools for our annual summer conference. This conference explored the intersection of faith, economics and public policy. From Wednesday evening to Saturday afternoon, we discussed issues including the morality of capitalism, the cyclical nature of financial markets, energy policy, social security and the budget crisis. AEI’s Michael Barone started our conference Wednesday night relaying his wealth of knowledge related to campaigns and elections. Students also heard from AEI scholars Andrew Biggs, Christina Hoff Sommers, Karlyn Bowman, Alex Pollock, Steve Hayward and more. Our conference included a trip to the U.S. Capitol to hear from AEI’s Alex Brill. Thank you to our students and professor participants from the following schools: Baylor University, Bethel College, Bryan College, Calvin College, Cedarville University, Colorado Christian University, Dallas Baptist University, Geneva College, George Fox University, Gordon College, Houghton College, The Master’s College, Messiah College, Olivet Nazarene University, Redeemer College, Regent University, Taylor University, Vanguard University, Westmont College and Wheaton College.
