In the first edition of our “Common Good” podcast, we discuss adoption, foster care and poverty with two experts who are adoptive parents themselves: Kathy Edin and Aaron Graham.
Edin is a professor of sociology at Johns Hopkins University and is most recently the author of “Doing the Best I Can: Fatherhood in the Inner City.” She is widely known for her research on the impact of social welfare and urban poverty on family structure and child well-being.
Graham is the lead pastor of The District Church in Washington, DC. He recently launched an initiative called DC127, a network of churches in the DC area seeking to provide loving homes for children in the foster care system.
